To All Member Institutions:

　　To further advance research at the Shenzhen Key Laboratory of Maternal Diseases and Maternal and Infant Health, applications are now invited for the laboratory’s 2025 open research projects. The call is open to the laboratory’s host institution and member institutions of the Shenzhen Maternal and Child Healthcare Consortium. Applications will be accepted from Aug. 8 to Aug. 31, 2025. Details are as follows:

　　I. Funding Program

　　(I) Priority Research Areas

　　Focusing on key scientific questions related to maternal diseases and maternal and infant health, priority will be given to research in the following areas:

　　1.Pathogenesis and influencing factors of maternal diseases;

　　2.Effects of diseases during pregnancy on maternal complications, pregnancy outcomes, neonatal outcomes, and related health outcomes;

　　3.Short- and long-term effects of maternal diseases on both mothers and their offspring.

　　(II) Funding Plan

　　1.In 2025, up to 10 projects are expected to receive funding, with a maximum grant of 100,000 yuan per project.

　　2.Project duration: 3 years.

　　3.Disbursement of funds: 50% upon project approval, 30% upon successful completion of the first-year assessment, and the remaining 20% upon successful completion of the second-year assessment.

　　(III) Eligibility Requirements

　　1.Applicants must be full-time employees of either the host institution of the key laboratory (Shenzhen Maternity and Child Healthcare Hospital) or a member institution of the Shenzhen Maternal and Child Healthcare Consortium. Each project will operate under a Principal Investigator (PI) responsibility system.

　　2.Applicants must hold a master's degree and an associate senior professional title or above, or a doctoral degree and an intermediate professional title or above, and must have relevant research experience and an established research foundation in the proposed research area. Postdoctoral applicants are required to provide a letter of recommendation from their postdoctoral supervisor.

　　3.Each project team must include at least one full-time staff member from the host institution of the key laboratory. 

　　Each applicant may submit only one proposal.

　　II. Application Procedures

　　1.The Principal Investigator should carefully review the Application Guidelines (Attachment 1) and complete the Project Application Form (Attachment 2) in full.

　　2.Application deadline: 24:00 on Aug. 31, 2025. Late applications will not be accepted.

　　3.Required application materials: A scanned PDF copy of the application form bearing the required signatures and official seal, and a Word version with identical content.

　　5.Review and project approval process: 

　　Administrative review → Expert review → Public announcement → Signing of the project agreement.

　　6.Announcement of results: October, 2025.
