To promote research and development in the field of obstetric and reproductive diseases and improve reproductive health, and in accordance with the relevant requirements of the Administrative Measures for Shenzhen Clinical Research Centers(Shenzhen Science, Technology and Innovation Regulation [2023] No. 3), the Administrative Measures for Clinical Research Centers of Shenzhen Maternity and Child Healthcare Hospital, and the Project Mission Statement of the Shenzhen Clinical Research Center for Obstetrics and Reproductive Diseases, the Shenzhen Clinical Research Center for Obstetrics and Reproductive Diseases encourages and supports its participating institutions, including core institutions and network member institutions, in conducting research oriented toward major needs and common technical challenges in maternal and child healthcare, clinical needs, and the integration of industry, academia, research, and clinical application. Focusing on the research priorities of the Shenzhen Clinical Research Center for Obstetrics and Reproductive Diseases, the program supports high-quality multicenter prospective cohort studies, interventional studies, and clinical evaluations of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, technologies, and care models with independently owned intellectual property rights. The program aims to generate a range of representative research outputs, including high-level research evidence, guidelines and standards, research repositories, databases, innovative products, and other achievements. 

　　Applications for the 2025 Open Research Projects of the Shenzhen Clinical Research Center for Obstetrics and Reproductive Diseases will be accepted from Aug. 8 to Aug. 31, 2025. To ensure the effective implementation of the application process, the relevant information is hereby announced as follows:

　　I. Funding Priorities

　　1. Research Areas

　　With a focus on the clinical needs related to obstetric and reproductive diseases, priority will be given to the following research areas:

　　(1)Research on the precision prevention and treatment of gynecological diseases

　　(2)Research on the prevention and management of critical obstetric conditions and the optimization of childbirth

　　(3)Research on reproductive health and fertility preservation

　　(4)Research on improving pregnancy outcomes and maternal and infant health

　　(5)Research on advanced technologies in obstetrics and reproductive medicine

　　2. Funding Principles

　　(1)Clinical relevance: Projects should aim to address major clinical and scientific questions related to obstetric and reproductive diseases and promote high-quality clinical research.

　　(2) Scientific validity: Research protocols should be designed to address key issues for which high-level evidence is urgently needed.

　　(3) Innovation: Projects should demonstrate novelty, and their research outputs should be original and involve independently owned intellectual property rights.

　　(4) Leadership: Multicenter prospective cohort studies, randomized controlled trials, and translational research conducted in collaboration with universities and research institutions are encouraged.

　　3. Funding Plan

　　(1) In 2025, funding is planned for 15 projects, with a maximum funding amount of 200,000 yuan per project.

　　(2) Project duration: 3 years.

　　(3) Disbursement of funds: Project funding will be disbursed annually in installments according to the approved funding period. Upon project approval, 50% of the total funding will be disbursed. An annual progress report must be submitted each year. Subject to satisfactory evaluation, 30% of the total funding will be disbursed in the second year and the remaining 20% in the third year.

　　II. Applicant Eligibility Requirements

　　1.Applicants must be full-time employees of the center’s host institution (Shenzhen Maternity and Child Healthcare Hospital), core institutions, network member institutions, or member institutions of the Shenzhen Maternal and Child Healthcare Consortium. Projects will be implemented under a Principal Investigator (PI) responsibility system.

　　2.Applicants must hold a master's degree and an associate senior professional title or above, or a doctoral degree and an intermediate professional title or above, and must have relevant research experience and an established research foundation in the proposed research area. Postdoctoral applicants are required to provide a letter of recommendation from their postdoctoral supervisor.

　　3. At least one key member of the research team must be a full-time employee of the center’s host institution.

　　4.Each applicant may apply for only one open research project during the same application cycle.

　　5. Applicants proposing interventional studies must hold a valid Physician Qualification Certificate and a valid Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certificate.

　　III. Intellectual Property Ownership

　　All research outputs generated from funded projects must acknowledge the funding source as follows:

　　Academic outputs, including but not limited to published papers, science and technology awards, patents, and other research outputs, must be related to the content of the approved application.

　　If the applicant is affiliated with Shenzhen Maternity and Child Healthcare Hospital, the hospital must be listed as the first institutional affiliation for all academic outputs. If the applicant is not affiliated with the center’s host institution, at least one representative project output, such as a publication or patent, must list the Shenzhen Clinical Research Center for Obstetrics and Reproductive Diseases as the first institutional affiliation.

　　IV. Application Procedure

　　1.The Principal Investigator should carefully read the Application Guidelines and complete the Project Application Form (Attachment 1) in full.

　　2.Application deadline: 24:00 on Aug. 31, 2025. Late applications will not be accepted.

　　3.Required application materials: A scanned PDF copy of the application form bearing the required signatures and official seal, and a Word version with identical content.
