To standardize ultrasound screening practices and enhance the technical expertise of local medical professionals, the Shenzhen Maternity & Child Healthcare Hospital hosted a training program on neonatal congenital heart disease ultrasound techniques from Sept. 28 to 29, 2026.

The initiative aligns with requirements set forth in the Outline for the Development of Chinese Children (2021–2030) and the Shenzhen Municipal Health Commission's implementation plan for neonatal congenital heart disease screening. More than 100 physicians from healthcare institutions across the city, all prospective practitioners of neonatal congenital heart disease ultrasound exams, participated both in person and online.
During the sessions, medical experts provided detailed instructions using real-world clinical cases and ultrasound imaging examples. The professional yet engaging curriculum was well-received by trainees, providing a strong impetus for standardizing operational procedures and helping practitioners master the technology to a high standard.
Hospital officials noted that the successful event further refined the city's comprehensive birth defect prevention and control system while solidifying sonographers' professional competence and program execution capabilities. Moving forward, the hospital plans to continue leveraging its professional leadership, strengthening collaboration with district-level healthcare institutions, advancing technical training and quality control guidance, and working together to safeguard children's health.
